Orana Park

27/11/16

What a fantastic trip we had to Orana Park last week.  The day was beautiful, although it did get a bit hot towards the end. Special thanks to Tracy, Lin, Laura and Jim who were our Parent \Helpers for the day.  We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did. Thank you also to Elaine who was our Zoo Teacher.

The animals were hot and sleepy but it was fun feeding the giraffes and we were all excited to see the gorillas outside playing on their climbing frame.

Softball Coaching

20-11-16

Last Friday we were lucky to be able to join in the softball coaching which the Senior classes have been having this term.  Friday was our first day and everyone practiced catching and throwing the ball.  It was great fun and we're looking forward to the next session at the end of this coming week.

Animal habitats

2/11/16
Room 4 and 5 are learning about animals and animal habitats as part of our Inquiry topic this term.  We worked together in small groups to look at pictures of animals and classify them into various groups.

Making Lolly Cake

Our Strand maths unit was Measurement this term and we focussed on weight.  To finish the unit we joined with Room 4 and made Lolly Cake. Everyone had fun sharing the tasks and all got to enjoy eating the finished cake.  We made plenty and were able to eat some the next week as well.

Good start to the term

Here we are nearly half way through the term.  The children enjoyed their two weeks of swimming at Aquagym at the start of the term and they all made great progress.  Thanks to the parents who came along to watch their children swim.
