Week Nine - Being a Learner by Getting Involved in the Learning and Giving Things a Go!

Kia ora whanau and caregivers,

This week, among many other exciting activities the students have been able to participate in some new GoNoodles!  Due to the cold, damp weather, it has meant we have been unable to go outside for fitness.  The children instead have been doing different guided dances and stretches, among many other exciting, indoor fitness activities.

One song which the children really enjoy singing and dancing to is the Cat Party song!  Please see the students great movement and dance skills and enjoy the video!

Week Eight - Being a Learner by Participating in Drama

Kia ora whanau and caregivers,

This week in Drama the students have continued working towards understanding and modelling freeze frames and catchphrases. We have looked at many different examples of freeze-frames and catchphrases including; Spiderman, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Iron Man, Thor and The Hulk, just to name a few. The students have also considered how Maui and his brothers' stories could be influenced by freeze frames and catchphrases. Below are the superhero freeze frames that a few students came up with!

Week Six - Being a Learner by Looking After our own Belongings

Kia ora whanau and caregivers,

This week has been a lot of fun even though we have only had three days at school!  In Room 5 we completed a lot of art, participated in our Inquiry work 'Pause, Breath Smile' and have done a lot of really exciting work in both Maths and Reading.  Please see the photos below of the students preparing for a Reading session and also completing some painting work!
